MISMO Compliance Certification
Home > About MISMO > MISMO Compliance Certification

As more organizations choose to adopt and implement MISMO’s voluntary data standards, it is important that there is a common understanding of what it means for a product to comply with a MISMO standard. This understanding is critical to achieving maximum use of these standards across trading partners. That is why MISMO XML Compliance (MXCompliance®) was developed.

Through the MXCompliance Service, firms that send and receive data can earn MISMO certification trademarks to show their trading partners they are MISMO Compliant. MXCompliance certification objectively demonstrates that a product has successfully implemented a voluntary MISMO XML data standard. The MXCompliance Web site provides services that test your products to achieve and maintain your certification and serves as a registry of companies that have been successfully certified.

The MXCompliance certification demonstrates that your company is committed to cost-effective, open technology for the mortgage banking industry. Establish your organization as a leader in the mortgage banking industry, and join the elite group of companies that have earned MISMO certification trademarks.

Benefits

Company Earning Certification

  • The MXCompliance Trademark can be displayed on product marketing material and Web site. This indicates organization is a technology leader in the real estate finance industry and is prepared to integrate flexibly with business partners (MXCompliance does NOT guarantee interoperability)
  • Company, product and certification(s) are listed in MXCompliance Web-based registry. This represents the authoritative source for the industry regarding companies successfully implementing MISMO standards and is a resource for those companies looking for software providers that offer MISMO compliant interfaces.
  • Companies can use the trademarked language “MISMO-compliant”. This includes the ability to promote MISMO compliance in responses to RFPs.
  • The certification process often identifies issues in the product being certified. By allowing up to three attempts, companies are able to locate issues within their systems and make corrections. Enables smoother and more efficient B2B connections moving forward.

Executing MISMO Implementation

  • Earning MXCompliance certification ensures the product maintains a common interfaces to a greater number of trading partners and reduces programmer time mapping to new interfaces.
  • Reduces start-up time to “board” new clients with each subsequent implementation of a compliance interface.

Real Estate Finance Industry

  • Certification establishes a common understanding of what it means to successfully implement the MISMO specifications.
  • Certification provides the ability to police those companies that are falsely claiming to use MISMO. The creation of MXCompliance allows MBA/MISMO to issue "Cease and Desist" letters to those companies falsely claiming they are “MISMO-compliant".

MXCompliance Registry

The MXCompliance Registry is the industry source for companies who are “MISMO-compliant”. The registry provides information on the companies that have been certified including their product name, the certifications earned and the expiration date of the current certification. As more and more companies successfully implement MISMO XML data standards, this resource promises to increase in value. View the MXCompliance Registry .
