Mission

The MISMO Core Data Structures (CDS) is a standing subgroup of the Architecture Work Group (AWG). Its purpose is to focus on the management of the Logical Data Dictionary and the Reference Model. CDS addresses data normalization issues between process workgroups, logical data models, and the identification of core industry data elements.

CDS is responsible for reviewing and providing first level approval for all MISMO XML standards. The AWG provides final approval of the standard.

High Level Goals

The goal of the workgroup is to review and approve XML standards for publication.

How to Participate

Core Data Structures is a closed workgroup and membership is restricted to appointed representatives from the MISMO Workgroups. Other MISMO participants may attend CDS meetings as guests and may also sign up to the CDS listserve on a read only basis. CDS has a weekly time slot for calls on Monday at 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm ET. Announcements of agenda items, call cancellations, etc. are distributed via the CDS Listserve.

Who Should Participate in the Core Data Structure Workgroup?

Each MISMO Process Area Workgroup that is developing XML standards must appoint a primary representative and a secondary representative to serve as members of the CDS. Other Process Areas not actively developing XML standards may appoint a representative if they so choose. The representative acts as a liaison between that Process Area Work Group and the CDS in all matters relating to the development of Logical Data Dictionary and the Reference Model. The representative communicates changes recommended by the CDS back to their work group.
