Artificial Intelligence (AI) will fundamentally change the way we do business. But what exactly is AI, and what are these new tools like ChatGPT? What opportunities does AI present for lending? What are the risks to lenders, investors and consumers and how can the risks be properly identified and managed?

This AI Forum, co-hosted by MISMO and MBA will bring together experts and leaders in AI as well as mortgage professionals and government officials to discuss opportunities, risks and legislative/regulatory interests in this fast-developing area. Discussions will address AI use cases and will be accompanied by demonstrations of early-stage products.

Program Schedule:

AI Forum panels and discussions will focus on the following topical areas.

  1. The Art of the Possible
    • Artificial Intelligence offers the possibility of profound change for society and financial services.  The possibilities seem endless.  Our Forum will include discussions and demonstrations of the possibilities that might affect the mortgage industry.
  2. Understanding Artificial Intelligence – Past, Present & Future
    • Although some believe AI was first implemented in 2022, it has existed for decades.  Even the mortgage industry has utilized AI since at least the 1990s.  Our Forum will discuss the evolution of AI within and outside the mortgage industry while highlighting important distinctions with newer forms such as generative AI.
  3. Responsible AI
    • The enormous potential of AI may only be exceeded by the fears many have regarding its capabilities.  There are risks with the adoption of AI, and the newer forms introduce additional risks.  Our Forum will discuss the operational and legal risks with AI within the mortgage industry.
  4. Managing Risk
    • Identifying, understanding, mitigating and monitoring AI risk is different from managing other risks.  Our Forum will include discussions on available frameworks and controls necessary to protect your company and customers.
  5. Getting Started
    • The most frequent questions regarding AI seem to revolve around where to start and how to do it.  Our Forum will feature advice from experts to help you begin, or accelerate, your company’s AI journey.
  6. What Comes Next?
    1. Our event will conclude with a series of conversations on Artificial Intelligence activities for the mortgage industry.
