MISMO License Registry
Organizations that download MISMO Products (standards or collateral) and develop technology based on MISMO Products, are required to have the appropriate MISMO license. The MISMO License Registry is a resource you can use to look up the organizations that are licensed to use MISMO standards released on or after January 1, 2018*. The registry consists only of organizations and individuals who hold one of two MISMO licenses to use the standards:
2018 End-User License - Organizations with this license may download MISMO products and use them to develop their own technologies, but use them only internally and not make them available to others.
2018 Distributor License - Organizations with this license may use all MISMO products to develop technology that is then made available to customers or external partners.
Information about holders of MISMO License for use of collateral may be obtained by contacting us at email@example.com.
The registry will not include holders of MISMO 2004 End-User Licenses, the licenses that were issued to all MISMO products prior to January 1, 2018. The MISMO 2004 End-User License is automatically granted when an organization downloads any MISMO standard or collateral.
Note to MISMO license holders: When viewing the registry, please confirm that your organization has the correct license and that it is current. All licenses must be renewed on an annual basis.
Organizations that rely on third-party technology (e.g., lender using a vendor provided LOS) that incorporates MISMO standards or collateral are not required to have a MISMO license. However, if your organization is using a third-party/vendor product such as a Document Vendor or LOS that incorporates MISMO standards or collateral, it is important to confirm the vendor has the correct license and that it is current.
If you wish to obtain MISMO standards or collateral and aren't sure which license is needed, please contact MISMO at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-557-2880. For more information about MISMO licenses, check out our "About MISMO Licenses" page.
* Version 3.5 of the MISMO XML Reference Model will be grandfathered into the 2004 End-User License terms and conditions.
