A framework of accounting standards, rules and procedures defined by the professional accounting industry, which has been adopted by nearly all publicly traded U.S. companies.

Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA)

Federal legislation which requires certain types of lenders to compile and disclose data on where their mortgage and home improvement loans are being made.

Information Classification

The practice of identifying the sensitivity of information considering the risk and impact of the information being accessed, disclosed, modified, used or destroyed without proper authorization and the potential harm resulting from such unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, use or destruction.

Metadata

Content that identifies, describes, explains and/or provides location details about an enterprise�s data content assets and enables the retrieval, usage, or management of these assets. 1. Business Metadata � Descriptive information providing context about the data, typically defined by the business (e.g., purpose of the data, definition of data population, business rule logic, how rules or usage has changed over time, etc.). 2. Technical Metadata � Information about an object/container of data, typically defined by IT, and used to describe the structure of systems. 3. Operational Metadata � Administrative information to help manage a resource providing context about processes involved in production, maintenance, data movement and data quality.

Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) Act

On July 30, 2002, President Bush signed into law the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, which he characterized as ""the most far reaching reforms of American business practices since the time of Franklin Delano Roosevelt."" The Act mandated a number of reforms to enhance corporate responsibility, enhance financial disclosures and combat corporate and accounting fraud, and created the ""Public Company Accounting Oversight Board,"" also known as the PCAOB, to oversee the activities of the auditing profession.

Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD)

The Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) is a common industry dataset that allows information on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau�s (CFPB�s) Closing Disclosure to be communicated electronically. It was developed by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (the GSEs) at the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

Uniform Loan Delivery Dataset (ULDD)

The Uniform Loan Delivery Dataset (ULDD) is a data format governing loan data delivery and is part of an effort to improve loan quality referred to as the Uniform Mortgage Data Program (UMDP) mandated by the GSEs' regulator, the Federal Home Finance Agency (FHFA).
