Content that identifies, describes, explains and/or provides location details about an enterprise�s data content assets and enables the retrieval, usage, or management of these assets. 1. Business Metadata � Descriptive information providing context about the data, typically defined by the business (e.g., purpose of the data, definition of data population, business rule logic, how rules or usage has changed over time, etc.). 2. Technical Metadata � Information about an object/container of data, typically defined by IT, and used to describe the structure of systems. 3. Operational Metadata � Administrative information to help manage a resource providing context about processes involved in production, maintenance, data movement and data quality.

Acronym for Mortgage Identification Number, a unique 18-digit number permanently assigned to an eNote registered on the MERS� eRegistry or a Mortgage loan registered on the MERS� System. The MIN is a unique 18-digit number that is permanently assigned to a mortgage loan registered on the MERS� System or an eNote registered on the MERS� eRegistry. The MIN is composed of a MERS� Member's 7-digit Org ID, a 10-digit sequence number, and a Check Digit.
