Our Goal
The EDI 260 Application for Mortgage Insurance Benefits is a dataset that can be used by servicers to file claims with government agencies and private mortgage insurers in the event defaults or foreclosure activity allow for the collection of a third-party guarantee/insurance benefit. The existing specification is unsupported and missing key information needed to process applications for mortgage insurance benefits.
Various custom formats have surfaced in the industry and the new Application for Mortgage Insurance Benefits DWG would like to create a dataset specification to standardize, modernize, and maintain a replacement for what’s in use today. The Application for Mortgage Insurance Benefits DWG will conduct regular meetings via conference call.
Individuals interested in participating in this group who are already MISMO members may join the collaboration site that has been established on MISMO connect. Those not already members of MISMO who would like to participate should contact [email protected].
How to Join
Anyone may participate in a MISMO development workgroup or community of practice regardless of membership status. Voting members of Information Management and Architecture Workgroup are elected as per governance procedures. Membership in MISMO is open to anyone - mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, servicers, vendors, government agencies and more. MISMO members receive a voice, and vote, in creating and enhancing industry standards used by the entire industry. Learn more here.
