Remote Online Notarization (RON) Standards V2
The Remote Online Notarization Standards (RON) V2 public comment period ended August 27, 2024. Comments were received that the development workgroup is still working through to resolve. We anticipate the RON Standards V2 to be re-released for public comment again in 2026.
The Remote Online Notarization Standards V2 is the result of industry collaboration to update the standards to include essential updates identified during the implementation process.
Key updates to the Remote Online Notarization Standards include requirements changes to:
- Identity Verification
- Title Insurer Requirements
- Remote Online Notarization Provider information
- Audio/Video Recordings and Notarial Records
- Remote Online Notarization events in the Audit Trail
