Focus Area Descriptions

Focus Areas are used to add context to terms included in the MISMO Business Glossary. Terms in the Glossary may or may not have a focus area assigned to them. One or more focus area may be assigned to the same term. The list of focus areas is expected to grow over time

Focus Areas					Description
#Appraisal					A set of terms typically used in various appraisal forms, for example, agency forms and the GSE’s Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD).
#ArtificialIntelligence					A set of terms approved by the MISMO Artificial Intelligence Community of Practice.
#ClosingDisclosure					A set of terms typically used in loan closing disclosures, for example, the Loan Estimate, Closing Disclosure, or datapoints from the GSE Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD).
#Commercial					A set of terms, processes or documents as it relates to the mortgage business where the loan is secured by non-residential income producing property.
#DGMFitForPurpose					A set of terms grouped by the MISMO Data Governance & Management (DGM) Fit For Purpose Framework artifact.
#eMortgage					A set of terms that refer to electronically signed closing documents paired with an original digital promissory note.
#LDD					A set of terms grouped by the MISMO Logical Data Dictionary (LDD) data points.
#LoanApplication					A set of terms that comprise the mapping of each Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) field to supporting MISMO v3.4 fields.
#LoanDelivery					A set of terms typically used in a Loan Delivery transaction, for example, datapoints from the GSE Uniform Loan Delivery Dataset (ULDD).
#MBAGlossary					A set of terms included in the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Business Glossary.
#MISMOApproved Acronym					A set of acronyms that have been approved for use within a MISMO data point name, definition or enumeration.
#MISMOLifeOfLoan					A set of terms grouped by the MISMO products and their relationship to "typical" processes within the mortgage lifecycle.
#MISMO3.4_iLAD					A set of terms that comprise the Industry Loan Application Dataset for MISMO 3.4 (iLAD). Refer to this standard for implementation guides for use of and updates to iLAD.
#Origination					A set of terms, processes or documents related to the completion of the residential or commercial mortgage application.
#Servicing					A set of terms, processes or documents related to the following mortgage banking functions: receipts of payments, customer service, escrow administration, investor accounting, collections and foreclosures.
