What is the Title and Closing Docs to Data Development Workgroup?
The Title and Closing Docs to Data Development Workgroup (DWG) will lead the initiative and standardize the data for pre-closing, closing and post-closing title documents used on a national basis.
The DWG is currently working on creation of datasets for the following:
- Closing: Settlement Statement (ALTA Form), Closing Statement, Title and Closing Data Points, Title and Closing Data Points and Loan Payoff Request Letter
- Post-Closing: Title Policy
In addition, the Development Work Group (DWG) will develop supporting documentation to provide guidance in the use of these data standards.
How to Join
Anyone may participate in a MISMO development workgroup or community of practice regardless of membership status. Voting members of Information Management and Architecture Workgroup are elected as per governance procedures. Membership in MISMO is open to anyone - mortgage lenders, banks, credit unions, servicers, vendors, government agencies and more. MISMO members receive a voice, and vote, in creating and enhancing industry standards used by the entire industry. Learn more here.
