eMortgage Vaulting Guide
The purpose of this document is to provide information and guidance for evaluating, implementing, and relying on electronic vaults for storing electronic documents, and in particular, the eNote. The term, "electronic vault" is typically used in the mortgage industry today to identify a system where electronic documents are stored for safekeeping. However, to date, there has been no comprehensive and authoritative source that defines requirements and responsibilities for implementing and operating an electronic vault on the behalf of lenders, warehouse lenders, or investors.
The release and use of MISMO standards and other resources, including the eMortgage Vaulting Guide Components , are governed by the MISMO Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Policy.
