Title and Closing Dataset Specifications
The industry standard data set mapping for several pre-closing and closing data sets including Fee Sheet, ALTA CPL, ALTA Title Commitment and Endorsements have achieved “Candidate Recommendation” status, which means they have been thoroughly reviewed by a wide range of organizations and industry participants and are available for use across the industry.
MISMO developed these dataset specifications to create standards for frequently used title and closing documents that can be readily adopted by the mortgage industry to establish a consistent method of title data exchange between parties. This effort is part of MISMO’s work to enhance interoperability throughout the industry.
What It Includes
The trading of title and closing information is not standardized across the industry and often relies on the effective exchange of a document. The following data set specifications have been developed through volunteer collaboration in the Title and Closing Documents to Data Development Work Group

- Endorsements
Adoption of these data set specifications will allow organizations to continue to enhance automation and interoperability.
