Information Management

Join the Information Management community to hear about the latest IM efforts!

What is Information Management?

Information Management (IM) ensures consistent business definitions and business information is used across MISMO Products. This includes, but not limited to: Business Glossary, Business Reference Model including MISMO Life of Loan, Logical Data Model plus applicable related platform dependent models, and MISMO XML Reference Model its supporting Collateral. The group uses data modeling and relational concepts to maintain consistent data structure usage for the development of the MISMO Reference Model.

Each MISMO community of practice / development workgroup elects representatives who serve as the liaisons between IM and his or her individual community. Others are always welcome to attend and participate in IM meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend all meetings.
  • Present their community's completed work for review.

  • Assist with the review of proposed changes or enhancements to MISMO Products submitted specific to approved Work Requests.

  • Examine the proposed change or enhancement from a business or data perspective to ensure clarity and consistency of meaning; to eliminate any duplicate or unclear terms or data points and ensure the use of MISMO naming conventions as defined in the MEGs and other established development guidelines.

  • Ensure that the information is organized for optimal use by the MISMO Product’s expected users and in compliance with all published MEGs and established product development guidelines.

  • Decision work products to move forward in the MISMO approval process.
