The Housing Counseling Dataset Specification v1.1 was published as Candidate Recommendation status on March 26, 2026.
The Housing Counseling Dataset establishes a framework for exchanging information about housing counseling sessions, borrower participation, and outcomes. Standardizing the data collected during housing counseling sessions will improve interoperability across systems and provide visibility to the impact that housing counseling has on the loan origination process.
