Brittney Prophete 202-557-2799WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 29, 2025) – MISMO®, the real estate finance industry's standards organization, today announced that it is seeking public comment on the latest version of the MISMO Life of Loan Process Model. The 30-day public comment period will run through November 28, 2025.
“The MISMO Life of Loan is a roadmap for the entire mortgage journey — from application to payoff, and even servicing transfer,” said Brian Vieaux, MISMO President. “It shows where MISMO standards come into play and how data moves across each stage. As an interactive tool, it gives MISMO Members an easy way to explore our standards and see how they fit within a typical mortgage lifecycle.”
MISMO Life of Loan uses Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) — a widely used standard for documenting business processes created by the Object Management Group (OMG). This visual language makes it easy for anyone, regardless of MISMO or mortgage experience, to understand the Life of Loan. It is especially valuable for technology companies entering the mortgage space.
