MISMO Calls for Industry Input on New Version 3.6.2 Reference Model

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 28, 2025) – MISMO®, the real estate finance industry's standards organization, today announced that it is seeking public comment on the new  Version 3.6.2 MISMO Reference Model , which includes new data points, containers, and enumerations to support MISMO work products and broader mortgage industry needs. The 30-day public comment period will remain open through September 27, 2025.

  

“Version 3.6.2 of the MISMO Reference Model reflects MISMO’s continued commitment to supporting the evolving needs of the mortgage industry,” said Rick Hill, MISMO's Acting President. “This model builds on the existing framework, with targeted enhancements, while maintaining backward compatibility to ensure ease of adoption. We encourage stakeholders to review and provide feedback during the public comment period.”

Key updates include:

• Support the MISMO Loan Boarding Data Segment

• Expanded enumerations for Credit Score Model Names & Credit Report Types

• Introduction of the Automated Valuation Model (AVM) Common Confidence Score Rate

• Additional support for the MISMO Housing Counseling Dataset

• Support for the VA Report and Certification of Loan Disbursement (VA Form 26-1820) Dataset

• General maintenance updates, including new data points, enumerated values, and containers

The MISMO Reference Model includes an XML schema representation, a YAML file set conforming to the OpenAPI specification, a Logical Data Dictionary (LDD) offering a business-centric view, and a Unique ID Matrix to streamline impact analysis and accelerate implementation.

The public comment period allows those who participated in the proposal at least 60-days’ notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by  MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).

MISMO requests that any organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products to disclose them at this time in writing. All comments and disclosures are due by September 27, 2025, and should be directed to [email protected].
